Payment & Refund Policy
Deposit
To place an order and have your cake put on our production schedules for your event date a $150 non-refundable deposit ($250 for cakes over $1,000) is required. Without the deposit, we will not hold your date or add your cake to our production schedule (baking, decorating and delivery). If you elect to wait until 2 weeks (or less) prior to your event date to place your order, we cannot guarantee that we can make your cake due to our full production schedule – even if you have previously talked to one of our consultants.
Final Payment
Final payment is due 2 weeks prior to your event date. If payment is not made by the due date the cake will not be started, scheduled and may be cancelled. When a deposit is made, the due date for the final payment will be written on your order under the amount due. We will do our best to contact you in the event that you don’t contact us by the date due; however, the responsibility to finalize your order is yours. Since some cake orders are well in advance of the event, please let us know if you change your contact information so we can contact you if needed.
Delivery
You are welcome to pick up your cake at our bakery; however, we do offer delivery in the Las Vegas valley for a fee that ranges from $40 to $75 depending on where you want it delivered to. We do offer delivery to the Las Vegas Strip and its surrounding properties for a $50 delivery fee. We are not responsible for your cake once it is delivered to your specified location. If you elect to have us deliver your cake to a restaurant or other facility where you will not be personally accepting your cake; that’s not a problem; we will obtain a signature of acceptance from whomever you designate to accept your cake and we will take a picture of your cake once delivered. Of course, we cannot accept any responsibility for your cake once we deliver it and you’ll accept full responsibility.
When delivering to a hotel, other specified location or otherwise meeting you with your cake, our delivery person will wait up to 15 minutes beyond the specified delivery time, after which, we will reload the cake and you’ll have to reschedule (and pay an additional delivery fee) for delivery of your cake. Also, please be sure that we have a good, local contact number so we can make contact with you in the event there is a problem or we can’t seem to find you. When coordinating deliveries, communications is very important – please be sure that we have accurate and current contact information.
Pick-up
If you choose to pick up your cake at our bakery and transport it yourself, we are not liable or responsible for the cake once it has left the bakery. You should prepare your vehicle so it is clean and free of items that could roll or slide into the cake. We do everything in our power to provide a well-structured cake, but please note that cakes are very fragile and are easily damaged – especially larger cakes and those that are heavily decorated. Please, drive carefully and slowly – quick turns and sudden stops will damage your cake. Cakes can be picked up during our normal business hours Monday through Saturday (9:00 am to 5:00 pm) or on Sunday from noon to 2:00 pm.
We are not liable for a cake once it has been delivered or picked up.
Refunds
Refunds of the deposit amount are not provided for any reason. We will gladly refund any amount paid above the deposit amount ($150 for cakes under $1,000 and $250 for cakes over $1,000) as long as the cake is cancelled at least 30 days prior to your event. Allow up to 30 days (plus bank processing time) for your refund to post back to your original method of payment. Due to our full schedule and our attention to detail we spend many hours planning and preparing before even starting your cake. Not to mention the costs of processing your order and ordering supplies sufficient to make your cake.
Additionally, we schedule our decorators based on the number of hours we estimate it will take to make each cake and often stop taking new orders for the week due to a full schedule. This is to make sure we can make the cakes we commit to. Cancellation of your order will leave a ‘hole’ in our schedule which may or may not be filled by another order. Once you place your order we depend on you to fulfill your part of the transaction – buying the cake – the same as we promise to hold up our end of the transaction – to make your cake as specified on your order.
Outside Events
Remember – heat, sun, rain and humidity are not friends of your cake. Any cake placed outside during an event has the possibility of melting or deforming due to environmental conditions. We recommend that your cake be stored in refrigeration until an hour before needed at your event. Assuming that your cake will be sitting in a typical room temperature (air conditioned in the hot, summer months) environment, we recommend that the cake doesn’t sit out of a non-refrigerated environment for more than 3 hours (less if in a hot or humid environment).
Serving Sizes
Wedding and custom cakes are designed to serve the number of people you specify. Our cake serving size is 1 ” x 2″. While we try to ensure that you will have sufficient cake for your party, if you are serving larger slices of cake than our suggested serving size and run out, we are not responsible to provide additional cake. If you aren’t sure how to properly cut your cake, please don’t hesitate to ask your consultant or the person that is helping you when you pick up your cake – we’ll be happy to explain the process to you.
